NG Boiler Conversion Kit

Image
The NG boiler conversion kit is needed when you are swapping out a new boiler on a Gen 1 and Gen 2 machine. The conversion kit is NOT necessary when replacing a boiler on the Gen 3. NG Gen 3 conversion kit is P/N 36435600K. Gen 1 NG is pretty noticeable do to the old style styrofoam insulation. Gen 2 can easily be identified by the overboil system components. Gen 1 boiler: Gen 2 overboil system components: Gen 3 overboil system components: If the tube holder looks like the Gen 3, no conversion kit is necessary. If it is a Gen 1 or Gen 2, please use the conversion kit and ALL the parts that come in that kit to properly convert boiler system to Gen 3. When swapping out a Gen 1 boiler to Gen 3 boiler, use conversion kit. When swapping out a Gen 2 boiler to Gen 3 boiler, use conversion kit. When swapping out a Gen 3 boiler to Gen 3 boiler, no need for conversion kit.

Excellent Compact Update

Image
If you have an Excellent Compact machine in your area, this is a MUST read. If you do have one in your area, the software most likely needs to be updated from MCB_1.55 to MCB_1.57 . To find out if it needs updating, you can check the manufacture date or simply just reset the machine and watch the display to see if it says MCB_1.55 or MCB_1.57. If it says MCB_1.55, it will need to be updated by you BEFORE you leave site. Regardless of what the service call was for. Biggest reason for this update is to help prevent E21 and erroneous E21 errors. If you have one of these errors (with or without the chattering noise) you are to: - replace the level pin (not just clean) - reset the machine - update the software if needed. If there is another call for this same issue within a few months after we have replaced the level pin and updated the software, replace the level pin again and request a water softener filter from Smuckers. In order to perform this update, you will need a USB

NG Cleaning

Image
While it is the responsibility of the customer to keep these machines clean, IT IS UP TO US to make sure the customer knows how. Please remember to explain the cleaning procedure and demonstrate for every new install or a service call where you see that it is not being cleaned regularly. Just point to the instructions inside of the door and walk them through it.  Also, please remember to check to see if your NG cleaning is set to non-blocking at least once a week. This is Christy's email a few months ago: "Smuckers recommends NG to be set up to clean at least one day per week ( non-blocking).  Wednesday is the best day so if anything goes wrong with the machine it can be serviced before the weekend . I have included  directions below  on setting up the cleaning days."

C-60 Mixer Motor

Welcome to the new service bulletin blog! This service bulletin is from February 2018. Don't be a fool and try to order a non-existent part (like I did recently). Here is the bulletin, along with some helpful information, so you can be prepared when working on a C-60. I know we can't remember ALL the service bulletins that come out, but if you find yourself stuck, please check the service bulletin tab under the machine you are working on, on the Box. I made a video as well. You can view it from the link below. Stay safe! https://youtu.be/S5FQka0AV7M
